What to do in Loughborough
Loughborough is a small market town in the British East Midlands surrounded by the beautiful Leicestershire countryside. You can visit loads of cafés, pubs, and a wide variety of restaurants, all within a 15-minute walk of the University Campus.
Bring your hiking boots: it’s a 40-minute walk to The Outwoods and Beacon Hill, or if you’re feeling a little more adventurous, take the bus (or drive) to Bradgate Park for some stunning views and fascinating local history.
If history and cultural heritage is your thing, Loughborough is also home to the UK’s only remaining bell foundry, and the UK’s largest heritage railway: The Great Central Railway, which you can ride (on steam or diesel) all the way from Loughborough Central to Leicester North.
If you fancy more urban pursuits, Loughborough is only a 15-minute train ride from Nottingham, Leicester, and not much further from Birmingham, and London is only 1 hour and 20 minutes away by train.
